There’s so much to do and see

Twin Oaks Hotel is ideally located on the edge of the Peak District just a short drive to a host of local attractions such as the historic Chatsworth House and Bolsover Castle. Bakewell is a beautiful market town where a stroll down the river and a browse around the quaint shops is a lovely way to spend the day. If your looking for some serious retail therapy then East Midlands Designer Outlet and Meadowhall are where you should be heading.

With so much to do and see there is something for everyone!

MATLOCK BATH

A lively town for families, bikers and fun seekers. Enjoy a cable car flight to the Heights of Abraham, cavern tours, riverside walks and independent shops for you to browse. The Matlock Bath Illuminations are a popular feature from September to the end of October, the riverside is decorated and the cliffs floodlit to create a magical scene of colour. At weekends during the Illuminations there are parades of beautifully decorated boats, entertainments and, on certain dates, firework displays.

BAKEWELL

Bakewell is the biggest town in the Peak District National Park where you will find local produce at one of Britain’s best Farmers’ Markets, specialist shops selling everything from high fashion and outdoor clothing to handmade chocolates and rare whiskies. There’s a host of cafés, restaurants, pubs and tea rooms to enjoy lunch or sample the famous Bakewell Pudding. Take a brewery tour and sample world-beating craft beers at Thornbridge Brewery or take a leisurely stroll along the river.

MONSALL HEAD

Monsall Head, one of the most popular beauty spots in the Peak District, with breathtaking scenery over the dales. The winding river Wye in the steep sided dale, with the wooded slopes of Fin Cop and rocky outcrops of Hobbs House, together with the railway viaduct, make it one of the most photographed locations in England. The Monsal Trail crosses the old railway viaduct providing a fantastic viewpoint above the riverside meadows. There are visitor facilities, with car parks, toilets, guest houses, hotel, pub, cafes and a gift shop.

SHOPPING

If a spot of shopping is more your thing then the East Midlands Designer Outlet is a must-visit for those looking for some retail therapy. Home to over 65 of your favourite designer brands along with great outlet prices. Meadowhall Shopping Centre should also be high on the list of visits for the avid shopper. Located in Sheffield it boasts 1.4 million sq ft of floor space and inhabits 290 stores from top independent and international brands, 50 places to eat and drink, and an 11-screen cinema.
